  • Lisa Larson was born in the South of Sweden in and went to art school in
    Gothenburg – After graduating she was invited bygd Stig Lindberg to komma and
    work at the Gustavsberg Porcelain Factory for a year. Her products became a huge
    success for the company and she ended up staying for 26 years. In , she left to
    work independently as a freelance designer and sculptural artist, from her own
    studios in Nacka and in rural Skåne.

    Among her clients in the s were Rosenthal, KF, Duka, Höganäs, Jie Keramik
    and topp and Skrufs glass factories. In the 90–00s she worked mostly with unique
    sculptures which she often exhibited together with her artist husband Gunnar Larson.

    Since Lisa Larson has enjoyed a keen interest coming from Japan, where new collaborations with ceramic workshops have been realised, as well as selected licencing collaborations with other brands, applying her humorous drawings onto
    various other materials and products.

    Lisa Larson var en svensk keramiker och formgivare, född i Härlunda. Hon är främst känd för sitt arbete med keramiska figurer och skulpturer, särskilt under sin tid på Gustavsbergs Porslinsfabrik ( till ) där hon arbetade ihop med Stig Lindberg. Tiden efter Gustavsberg arbetade hon bland annat för Duka, Höganäs, Rosenthal, Rörstrand och slutligen under perioden till vid Jie Gantofta. När Jie gick i konkurs återvände Larson till lokalerna i Gustavsberg där hon startade det egna företaget Keramikstudion AB.

    Lisa Larsons verk kännetecknas ofta av lekfulla och karaktärsfulla barn- och djurfigurer med en unik stil och personlighet. Många av hennes skulpturer kommer i serier, som till exempel Lilla zoo , ABC-flickor och Adventsbarn Lisa Larson har haft betydande inflytande inom den keramiska konstscenen och hennes verk är mycket uppskattade och eftertraktade med samlare runt om i hela världen. Figurinen "Samhällsdebatten" och "Pippi" tillhör de mest eftersökta modellerna tillsammans med hennes stengodsskulpturer i unikat.

    Lisa Larson (9 September – 11 March ) was a Swedish ceramicist and designer. She is best known for her sculptures Small Zoo (), ABC-girls (), Africa () and Children of the World (–).[1]

    Biography

    Larson was born in in the Härlunda borough in Älmhult, birthplace of IKEA. She studied at College of Crafts and Design in Gothenburg between and [2]

    Larson is well known for her ceramic work which depicts animals and figures. After she finished her education, she competed in a Scandinavian art competition where she was approached by Stig Lindberg who offered her a one year trial position at the Gustavsberg porcelain factory. [3] Larson eventually left Gustavsberg in to do freelance work for a number of Swedish companies including Duka, Kooperativa Förbundet and Åhléns.[4]
